For optimal performance, it is essential to mount the blackout side tracks as close to your shade material as possible. Ensure the wall surface is smooth, dust-free, and dry; for bumpy or stucco walls, utilize small screws as magnetic strips may not hold. For inside mounts, you will need a 3/16 inch gap along each side between your shade and window frame to accommodate the window blocker side tracks effectively.
